Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria (CCFN) was established in September 2010 by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), with a national mandate as a specialized development agency responsible for overall coordination of development programs for the Catholic Church a role it plays within Church and Society Department of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN). CCFN is registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and can enter into contracts and agreements as a juridic or corporate entity, this is to facilitate development intervention and relations with funding partners in order to achieve greater professionalism. However it remains to all intents and purposes an agency of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, working broadly as part of the Church and Society department of the CBCN but not limited to it. The Catholic Church in Nigeria has a total of 54 dioceses grouped into 9 provinces, serving an estimated Catholic population of about 30 million. CCFN serves as the umbrella organization supporting these regional institutions to implement programs based on local needs. CCFN works in the following core thematic areas: Health and HIV/AIDS, Good Governance, Education, Emergency Response, Peace building, Environment and Gender as cross-cutting area. As part of the universal mission of the Church, CCFN works with local and international faith based and secular organizations on the basis of rights and need, not creed, race or nationality.

Background

  • The Accelerated Control of HIV Epidemic and Sustainability Solution (ACCESS) project is a comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, care, treatment program to be implemented in Abia, Enugu and Imo States.
  • It is a 5-year program (October, 2022 to September, 2027) to be implemented by Caritas Nigeria in partnership with; Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Vantage Technology and African Disease Prevention and Research Development Initiative (ADRAP) as the sole Implementing Partner in these states.

Job Summary

  • The Data Entry Assistant is expected to carry out data entry into all EMR and electronic platforms provided by CCFN for documenting service delivery and other efforts of the CBO.
  • This requires daily and weekly data collation and reporting activities in the community where primary implementation takes place.
  • They will additionally ensure the availability of quality data through regular scheduled data verifications and validations activities.
  • S/he will ensure the availability and use of Program Monitoring and Evaluation tools.
  • The ideal person is expected to support the CBO Monitoring and Evaluation in the achievement of all Strategic Information mandates assigned the CBO.

Key Areas of Accountability

  • Carryout data entry for HTS and Treatment indicators in the course of service delivery at CBO level.
  • Assist in providing SI related technical support and supervision in the planning, implementation and review of program implementation strategies.
  • Support CBO technical staff in ensuring service delivery activities are recorded into the provided national tools as appropriate. Transcribing the services recorded into the NMRS and other electronic platforms provided is a critical component of his/her task.
  • Consistently identify gaps in M&E processes and resolve them under the supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation officer.
  • Responsible for logistic support activities which include prompt supply of PMM and PME forms and registers in the course of project implementation to prevent of stock outs of same.
  • Participate in relevant trainings, coaching sessions and other forums that increases job knowledge and improves overall quality.
  • Participates actively in Data Quality Assurance (DQA) activities and other data quality and validation activities to ensure our data meets standards set for quality.

Qualifications and Experience
Qualified applicants must have:

  • Minimum of OND. Bachelor’s Degree or HND preferable.
  • Completion of NYSC or an exemption certificate.
  • Experience in health- related M&E is an added advantage.
  • Hands on experience in the use of computer (Word processing, Excel, and database programs).
  • Good communication and reporting skills including proficiency in both written and spoken English.
