Job Title: Workshop Manager (Mobile Equipment Plant)

Location: Nigeria

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the operations of the Mobile Plant Section to ensure that all mobile plant equipment are properly maintained based on the established policies, processes and procedures.
  • Develop and implement an Asset Management System for all company assets in line with standard practice
  • Organize and direct all maintenance engineers / supervisory staff to ensure pro-active maintenance planning, develop maintenance strategies, and provide single point of contact for all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
  • Interact with Production section of Technical Department and contractors to ensure optimum machine availability, effective execution of service level agreements.
  • Prepare and recommend budget by preparing analysis and data related to specific elements as directed.
  • Liaise with Procurement Department to improve supply chain management, recommendations for strategic and slow-moving parts, identification of spares cost profile throughout asset life cycle, and coordinate asset procurement either as replacement or new.
  • Monitor the financial performance of the Mobile Plant section against budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
  • Interact with Finance Department on asset management system from purchase to disposal of company assets, and to create annual budgets for all company assets and provide the tools necessary to end users for cost control and monitoring.
  • Liaise with HSE section to ensure asset risk profiling, third party certification, and compliance with local regulations.

Qualifications / Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Automobile / Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in management role and Heavy duty machines maintenance field.
  • Fully trained and knowledgeable with relevant Safety and Occupational Health & Safety standards.
  • Knowledge in all types of Heavy Duty Mobile machines maintenance works.
  • Strong background with resolution of technical issues during planning and execution phases.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments concurrentlly and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to organizes prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with business objectives
  • Excellent organisation and maintenance management skills.

Knowledge / Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of heavy-duty machine maintenance
  • Computer skills; knowledge of widows, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with SAP or similar software desired.
